Like many of you, we are buried in snow and have experienced frigid temperatures this winter. Not totally unusual for New Hampshire, but still a LONG, dark time to avoid photography. It's hard to get models out in the cold but, after a few months of this, I was willing to get out and try my hand at shots in the snow. Winter is, actually, a BEAUTIFUL time of year and I do look forward to capturing this time and taking advantage of each of the four seasons.
We had a milder day in Jan and I was interested in trying white-on-white for a mini-shoot with my daughter. I really love how these came out! 1.)

Christmas, 2013
Playing catch-up again! Here are my 11 children at Christmas. I love having these done every year, and I, also, enjoy the chance to practice with my flash.

Wildflowers
Ah, a little visit to warmer weather. I, actually, took these in the fall during a warm spell. It was a perfect time to take advantage of the gorgeous wildflowers in a field nearby that was planted by the town. As you can imagine, it was quite a popular pull-over site and, of course, a lot of cameras were clicking. Luckily, there were few there at this late hour when I brought my girls over fro some fun photos and, of course, bouquets to take home! In spite of the MANY bees, the girls did a great job and I just love how the colors and light played together.

The B Family, 2013
This was my last big shoot of the fall season -- and I end with a bang! A large family with 5 boys. These are personal friends of mine, so it was extra-fun to see what we could do. The kids were so easy and cooperative and even the teens loosened up quite a bit. Dad was game for anything and that helped with ideas. I just love how it all came out -- the colors and light were just perfect. We ended with some poses with the beloved family pet who is aging and declining in health. I am so happy when I can help families preserve their special memories like that.
The P Family
It was a good challenge for me to do more family sessions -- and many of them were large. It hasn't always been my "comfort zone" but, by the end of the season, I was just loving it! This family was no exception. Very fun-loving and they had a lot of ideas for posing (always a plus!) And what great clothes coordination! Introducing the P Family . . .
The A Family
I had fun with the A family, which actually consisted of a mother and daughter and the daughter's boyfriend (also, a graduating Senior.) So, it like a few mini-sessions in one! Finding a perfect balance in a limited amount of time was a challenge, but I think it worked beautifully. Some favorites . . .
